About National Vocational Qualification NVQ
Bachelor’s degrees in the arts, sciences, commerce, and all other fields are offered under the purview of the UGC under Sri Lanka’s higher educational system (University Grants Commission). Each year, more than 200,000 students fail the A/L examination and over 100,000 students fail the O/L examination because they cannot find a suitable way to obtain higher-level qualifications or necessary experience to join the job market.
A seven-level Qualification Framework is the National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Framework. A qualification is typically a collection of Competency units tailored to the needs of a specific job on the market.
Due to this, the national Vocational Qualification NVQ System with 7 Levels has been introduced by the territory and vocational education commission (TVEC) in order to address the difficulties stated above. However, the bachelor’s degree Qualification and NVQ Level 7 are the same.
