The last digit of the car registration number will be used to determine how much fuel is given out, as discussed. Beginning on July 21, 2022, and continuing through August 14, 2022, it will be implemented at a few filling stations in the Colombo District and over the entire island.
- Number plates ending with 0, 1, 2 will be issued fuel on Tuesday & Saturday
- Number plates ending with 3, 4, and 5 will be issued fuel on Thursday and Sunday
- Number plates ending with 6, 7, 8, and 9 will be issued on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
