About AAT Sri Lanka
AAT Sri Lanka was established in 1987 at the Institute of Chartered Accounts of Sri Lanka’s initiative and in response to findings from an Asian Development Bank team’s research programme on accounting and auditing in the nation.
The distinction of being the first associate member of the Confederation of Asian and Pacific Accounts (CAPA), a significant network of accounting bodies in the region since September 1989, and being admitted to full membership in 2015, 26 years after incorporation, belongs to AAT Sri Lanka.
In addition, by gaining experience in the field of accounting, accounting technicians can advance to the senior technician level SAT and fellow technician level FMAAT, at which point they are regarded as well-dressed professional accountants. Accounting technicians are recognised as middle level professional accountants immediately after obtaining the associate membership MAAT.
