Important Alert 6th 7th & 8th July 2022: From 6th July to 8th July 2022 There will be a 3 Hours power cut for the rest of the island. except for the Commercial city area and industrial zones between 1 pm and 10.30 pm and there wil be now power cut in those areas between 7 Am and 1 PM. The Rolling Power Interruptions Scheduled For July 4th And 5th 2022 Have Been Announced By Sri Lanka’s Public Utilities Commission.
The Electricity Sector Regulator has announced the following power cuts for the upcoming two days:
Groups ABCDEFGHIJKLPQRSTUVW: Daytime: 1 hour and 40 minutes; Nighttime: 1 hour and 20 minutes
Group CC: From 6 to 8 a.m. for two hours and thirty minutes
Groups MNOXYZ: From 5.30 AM to 8.30 AM for 3 Hours.

About Ceylon Electricity Board Sri Lanka
The Ceylon Electricity Board was incorporated on November 1st, 1969, in accordance with Act of Parliament No. 17 of 1969. It has the ability to produce electrical energy, transmit that energy, and distribute it to all types of consumers in order to collect money.
History of Electricity in Sri Lanka
Bristol, England was the first city to have electricity installed, and this happened on June 26th, 1881. Ceylon, a British colony at the time, was the first place to experience electricity when the SS Helps sailed into Colombo Harbor in 1882. The first electric light was turned on in Ceylon in 1890 in the billiard room of the Bristol Hotel in Colombo Fort using power produced by a diesel generator.

If CEB is required to implement demand management strategies due to insufficient generation as a result of fuel shortages, hydro storage shortages, and generation unavailability, such strategies will be restricted to the timetable provided in the official power outage schedule Sri Lanka PDF list. The Schedule for the Southern, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Part of the North West, and Part of the Western Provinces is Available to Applicants.
